About the class

This is a one time, very informal class, by nature, and is approximately 2 hours long.  The class is not intended as psychological therapy or to provide an individual plan for managing specific sleep difficulties, but rather it aims to provide information on general sleep issues, an idea of what normal infant sleep should look like, and detailed information on the main self-help strategies.

Dr. Ellie Wheeler

Hailing from the United Kingdom, Ellie received her Masters in Psychology and Mathematics from the University of St. Andrews in 2002 and went on to earn her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Glasgow in 2009.  Prior to completing her doctorate, she worked as a nanny for a number of years specializing in work with children with special needs.  After graduating, she worked as a psychologist in the UK working with young people suffering from eating disorders and their families.  Ellie teaches several classes at Special Addition – Emotional Self Care for Moms, Child Development, and Baby Sleep Solutions Classes.  In addition to her class instruction, Ellie enjoys time with her husband, her three young active children, and trips back to the UK for business and her UK family!

Kristen Rosin, IBCLC, RLC

Kristen is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC, and offers lactation consulting services in her office at Special Addition or  at your home. She very efficiently and enthusiastically  wears many hats at Special Addition.  She is a Certified American Heart Association Instructor and teaches Infant Safety and AHA Heart Saver CPR Classes at Special Addition as well as teaching the Breastfeeding Basics for Singletons and the Breastfeeding Basics for Multiples Classes. She is also the co-instructor for the Sleep Solutions Class at Special Addition.  When not teaching parenting and safety classes, Kristen enjoys camping with her husband and three young children (all three of whom were breastfed) and a bit of gardening and cooking!
