Dear Special Addition Moms & Families,
With all the unknowns of the past few weeks, the only thing certain is that pregnant and postpartum women still need support and that babies must be fed. At Special Addition, we’ve always made the health of moms, babies, and families, as well as that of our staff, a priority. It seems that the world is changing every hour, and we want to be able to serve our moms and families as safely as possible.
Due to the Shelter in Place notice issued by Travis County on Monday, March 23, changes to in-store service will be necessary.
In-Store Service: We feel an obligation to assist families with urgent needs for breastpump and baby scale rental and sales, replacement parts, and lactation services.
Walk-in sales and service are no longer available; however, if you have an urgent need for equipment or if you need breastfeeding help, please call us at 512-326-9308. Arrangements can be made. This equipment has always been sanitized with hospital disinfectant after each user, so you can be assured that you are receiving safe breastpumps and baby scales. These and their cases are thoroughly sanitized after each user and further inspected as they are sent out with the next user.
Ordering Online: You may continue to order product from our website at www.MaternityandNursing.com. We appreciate your loyalty to local businesses by using online ordering from their websites. Most orders will ship same day.
Phone Orders: If you would like to order by phone, please call 512-326-9308. We plan to continue behind the scenes service for phone and online orders.
Classes: If you have signed up for a class at Special Addition, the instructor will be contacting you for arrangements in receiving all the class information via Telehealth that you would have received in an on-site class. You may still register for a class by calling Special Addition or by registering online. Each instructor will be contacting you regarding details. Please keep an eye out for emails or phone calls from her.
Consults: The first days after the birth of your baby are extremely important for establishing milk production. Please don’t try to ride out the problems. Call us for help if you are experiencing difficulties. One of our Board Certified Lactation Consultants, IBCLC, will contact you to arrange for help via a Telehealth appointment or other options.
These are uncertain and stressful times in uncharted territory, but we must all support one another. Please know that Special Addition keeps the health and needs of you, your baby, and your family at the top of our list of priorities. We are here to support you in the safest ways possible. Please consider us a part of your family as we move through these troubling times. As our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted over the past weeks, we are here for you.
Again, please continue to support your local small businesses by ordering from their websites. In these desperate times, many of your favorite businesses may not be around after this health crisis. That means the loss of personal services and immediate product.
Stay safe, and thanks for your continued support.
